She Dies Tomorrow (2020)
I have watched the title sequence <She Dies Tomorrow> today. I think this short video is very stylish. The whole film has a horrible atmosphere and the rendering of text colors. Its background music is very weird but very unique, it also without any sense of contradiction.
It grabs my fully attention when I see the name <She Dies Tomorrow.>My hands are losing control and driven by my curiosity. It unstoppably tells me to open and watch it. This film is not horrible, because it only contains texts and music. In addition, the music is not horrible but weird. This sequence is bloodless but the colors and mood of texts makes my brains constantly subject to visual impact. Its color changes are very strange, with both warm tones and cool tones. There are gradient colors and non-normal colors. As an explanation, it is like an enlarged version of a dynamic horror film as the background of the font. Its font background is like an enlarged version of water droplets and microorganisms. The entire film is very dark, with a mysterious and terrifying atmosphere. What makes me feel weird is its background music, it’s like a complete opera repertoire, including several western musical instruments. The ups and downs are not high or soft. The only word can describe the song is the mood of strange. This song is very ritual, like someone is waiting for the arrival of death. The written in this film contains all the names of people who involved in the production and some resource link they have used. The order of its characters is from the author to the protagonist, then to the characters, then to the programmer and the designer who involved in the production of this film. It is arranged from primary to secondary. Nearly the end, it shows up the material information, such as music resources and other links. Finally, it shows the important brands participating in the cooperation. In conclusion, this word sequence gives me a lot of room for fantasy. The colors and horror atmosphere makes me want to see the main content behind. Every person may get different experience when they enjoy this short sequence. Although its text is only some normal names, but the accompaniment is ups and downs, and the matching of color of the dynamic text is changing all the time. It makes me look forward to it. It is very different from a horror movie. It does not use words or body movement to express the main message, it just uses a horror atmosphere, but this atmosphere is already trembling enough. Just like a young lady waiting for the arrival of death. The time is very long and suffering, but her performance is very indifferent.
I use different materials to create these two designs. Both of them are related to my location. I put map in the lady’s face and I use different color tone for the first image. P for Porland house shows where I am, and I also put the London city view as part of the P.
I think this picture can best describe where I am. I take this picture in the London Museum.
I like its European classical style very much. I think this painting also show the style of my location. My dormitory is also a place with historical and artistic scope. London is a European style city, its history is hidden in murals.
I animate my first short animation with my classmate.
I chose porland as my main words to focus on, because I am working on my location project and I am living in the porland house.
I also see some examples of category at the same day.
These two drawings I have done it in class. they are both one line drawing.
This drawing is also an in class practice.
I used paper cut to show up what I have seen in class.
